2018 Travel Bucket List

3 min read by  •  Time Visited: January 2018

In 2017, I traveled to Chicago, Toronto, Savannah (twice), New Orleans (city guide coming soon) and Seattle. In between these bigger trips, I did extensive exploring of my home state of Florida, primarily Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, St. Augustine, Jacksonville and Amelia Island. It’s the most traveling I’ve ever done in one year (by far), and is what inspired this blog’s creation. I found a new love for adventure, a desire to research the best restaurants and bars, and a strong sense of wanderlust.

With the launch of Adventures in Gourmet this January, I have put together a bucket list of destinations I’d love to visit in 2018. The opportunity to further explore the unknown and gather more exciting content to share with all of you is fueling my drive to plan and start booking! Chances are I won’t make it to all of them, but at least I have set a goal and can remain focused when I see great deals and reviews from fellow bloggers who have visited these destinations. There is also a Winter 2018 Restaurant & Bar Bucket List going live later this week!

Austin

Booked! I’m heading here in February with my boyfriend and couldn’t be more excited to venture into Texas for the first time. If you have any recommendations, please send them my way!

Boston

I visited this beautiful city in April 2014 in between jobs in NYC. I took the train for a long weekend to visit a friend and had an amazing time (thanks Brittany)! The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and breathtaking.

Charleston

I visited this historic city when I was young for a travel softball tournament, and sadly haven’t returned since. I hardly remember it at all, except for how incredibly hot the summer weather was. And that’s coming from a girl born and raised in South Florida! In recent years, their restaurant scene has rapidly expanded and with high-regards.

Denver/Boulder

I’ve never traveled to anywhere like or near Colorado. I’d love to visit Denver and/or Boulder specifically for their natural beauty meets up-and-coming, modern city life.

Nashville

I always thought it would be so fun to visit Nashville. I was going to go here last June, did ALL the research, then realized there was a huge event going on and everything was booked. Lesson learned!

New York City

I lived here from June 2013 – November 2016, and am long overdue for a visit back. Maybe this year, friends!

Europe

I took a Europe trip with my family the summer between 9th and 10th grade to Zurich, French Riviera (Nice & Villefranche-Sur-Mer), Monaco, Venice, Florence, Tuscany and Rome, and haven’t since returned. The hilarious and troubling memories are still running strong! While some friends studied abroad in college, I chose to intern for 10 weeks in New York City. It was such a wonderful experience and a smart decision in the long run. That said, I would love to visit just about every country, so I hope I can find the time to go this year. London, Paris, French wine country, Barcelona, Madrid, Prague, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Dublin, Greek islands…anywhere!

An International Tropical/Beach Destination

While I’m not limiting this to Mexico, Central America or South America, it’s what I have in mind. I’ve been to the Bahamas, Belize, Grand Cayman, Honduras and Cozumel on cruises, but I’ve never flown into a destination in these areas to explore. Panama, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina….the wishlist goes on. At least I know a little Spanish from school!
