What’s New & Coming Soon

3 min read by  •  Time Visited: May 2019

As you may have noticed, I’ve taken a break from posting on the blog for a few months as I settled into my new city of Orlando, living with my boyfriend in our new apartment, and my new job. It’s been a whirlwind but a very positive one. I have been keeping up with my Instagram @adventuresingourmet, so make sure you are following me there too!

I wanted to write this quick blog post to provide updates on what I’ve been working on and what you can expect to see coming soon.

Orlando

Every time I check a new place off of my Orlando wishlist, I add three more! I love having an accessible way of keeping track of things, so with the help of my developer-genius boyfriend, I am pleased to announce the launch of my “up-to-the-minute” Orlando wishlist and recommendations list at adventuresingourmet.com/orlando!

Check out my local Orlando lists here, or you can always find it at the top of my home page.

It features an interactive map, categories to choose from when you want to be specific in your search, and tips that will make your dining experience as positive as mine was. The tips include everything from where to sit in the restaurant, what dishes to order off the menu, notes about parking or long lines… the quick tips you want to know without having to scroll up and down endless TripAdvisor or Yelp reviews.

Traveling

In a very fast-paced few months, I’ve managed to go on some great trips both in Florida and abroad.

Jacksonville & St. Augustine

My sister and brother-in-law bought a new house in Jacksonville. I’m so happy for them! I drove up in February for her birthday and to see the new place. During our short visit, we went to some really great places including Preserved, Palm Valley Outdoors Bar & Grill, and Restaurant Orsay. I would go back to all of them!

Prague

At the end of February/early March, I took my first work trip to Prague for a leadership conference I helped plan. I loved going back to Prague for the second time in a year and being able to show my co-workers around to some of my favorite spots! I also made some updates and new additions to my Prague Travel Guide.

Palm Beach

In early April, I went home to visit my parents for my mom’s birthday, see my Aunt and Uncle who were in town visiting, and to see C’est Si Bon Gourmet Shop one last time, which is now permanently closed after an incredible 35-year run. It was a very bittersweet moment for me. While I was on the island, I also went to Sant Ambroeus for lunch and The Breakers Seafood Bar for a drink.

Athens

At the end of April/early May, I traveled across the pond to Greece for the first time on a 10-day work trip. I had quite possibly the worst flight experience ever on my way there, but it was so worth it! I am working on an Athens travel guide for the blog, and am also gathering ideas for a series of posts revolving around international travel tips.

Bucket List

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue checking off my Orlando wishlist (updating the blog along the way, of course) and find my routine/groove at home. I’m also planning to visit two U.S. cities this summer, but nothing has been booked yet. I’m looking at Boulder/Denver, NYC, Boston, and then saving Scottsdale/Tempe and Charleston for the fall once it cools down – all on my bucket list! I will also be going to Milan for the first time on a work trip in October, and maybe Asia. I can’t wait!
